Sewerage to be pumped into sea to reduce drownings
Mike:Good evening and welcome to concave news, your most trusted news source on the interwebs. This is Mike.
Dana: And this is Dana.
Dana:And in the headlines today this has got to be the most ridiculous of decisions by any council. Raw sewerage is to be pumped into the waters off our coasts with the intention of reducing drownings.
Mike:Of course - it makes perfect sense, would you swim at a filthy beach?
Dana:I admit, we do have a problem with drunken young males drowning in unguarded beaches but are you seriously expecting me to believe you support this decision of the councils?
Mike:Look Dana, it solves a number of problems all at once. Firstly we reduce the drownings. Secondly we reduce costs of employing surf life savers. Thirdly it increases the nutrient level of the ocean thus benefitting the native sea ecology. And fourthly it saves us money on treating that sewage. All sounds like good news to me Dana.
Dana:Please, shoot me - I don't believe I'm hearing this.
Mike:There's more Dana - much, much more to this story than meets the eye. The drownings are just the tip of the iceberg. We can solve so many more problems by taking the simplest route. No need to over complicate things with intricate disposal mechanisms. The simple things in life are often the best, and so too the simple solutions Dana.
Dana:Mike - I'm starting to wonder about your sanity - but then maybe it's not just you it's whoever decided that this decision was a good idea. I think..
Mike:There you go again Dana, thinking - that's what causes most of the world's problems - over thinking things. All we need to is to take the simplest course of action....
Dana:And defecate in our water supplies? Great. Wonderful option. Remind me never to eat fish again.
